NPD Swollen Pickle jumbo fuzz

Ok so I'm not goanna lie I had a hard time liking this pedal. I had one way back when I did not know how to properly use fuzzes and amps so I never liked it and all I could get was that smashing pumpkin sound which is not what I'm after. I ordered another one to replace my Wren and Cuff Tall Font Russian but its a totally different beast and I plan on keeping both on my board.

I spent 2 and half hours fiddling with all the external knobs and hated it! trebly and farty and just buzzy so I opened it up and turned the CLIP trimpot all the way to the right for a smooth open fuzz sound similar to a Fuzzface... I finally found a setting I liked after this adjustment with the crunch and scoop all the way clockwise and the tone knob almost rolled off and the gain at around 3 o Clock and volume at noon I found this super smooth Velcro-ish swelling lead sound. For chords it sounds pretty sputtery and there is not a lot of definition but still could be useful for ending a song with crazy sputter and feedback.

I've been using a clone of the original Swollen Pickle since they went out of production but before Jeorge joined up with Dunlop to reissue it. I love the big, thick, muff on steroid tone.

More importantly, what is that Mesa in the background? Lonestar? What speaker config?

Yeah a Muff on steroids is how I would explain it too... in stock config it was way too scooped and boomy for me..

The Mesa is a Lonestar Special in 4x10 config with jensens and mesa speakers... it RIPS! I barely use it though because it is so loud and awkward to carry around to rehearsal/ gigs etc.... its as tall as a 4x12 cab!
