Congrats. The other guitarist in my band has a hard tail Eclipse like that with the same pickups. He always sounds good with them.

I have the non Floyd version with the brushed gold Het Set, it's great. Do you like them in comparison to the regular 81/60?

Definitely.
The Het Set neck is one of the best neck pups I’ve played, like a 60 but cleaner and with less low mid flabbiness so it produces bell like chimney clean tones and never over-distorts the amp, it’s not perfect for solos or leads as that clearness and lack of low end compared to the 60 makes it almost too articulate and precise to the point where it may sound a little harsh for leads.
The Het Set neck is one of my favourite neck pups for a clean tone.
The Het Set Bridge is barely an EMG in my opinion, it has a bit of that 81 compression and chunk but it sounds much more like a passive pickup that’s going through a boost. It has such a tight low end but not as much as the 81 where it sounds robotic, it is somehow thicker in the low mids and midrange but has more clarity and note separation, I wish it had perhaps a little more high end sizzle but other than that it’s a killer bridge pickup.
They are a definitely improvement over the 81/60 for the stuff I play, which is mainly Death thrash with a few technical elements thrown in as well as the occasional bit of black metal.
Plus they look awesome.
