NSD ...love the way it sounds :D

Eminence Legend GB128

Bought one of these a while ago for a 1x12 cab that I can lug around and use for band practice etc & I'm really impressed with the way it sounds. Can't lie, price was the biggest factor since the Legend series for some reason is a lot cheaper than Eminence's Red Coat/Patriot series here . While this cost the equivalent of about $120 the Red Coat stuff (Wizard, Private Jack etc) costs double that or more ($225-250 per speaker)..

But in the end that worked out great for me 'cause I actually like the sound of these better than the Wizard's that a friend of mine has in his 2x12 (sounded a bit boomy/cloudy in there to me) & would have got it over a Wizard anyway based purely on it's sound. The GB128's are supposed to be Greenback clones, & close to the sound of Private Jack's but with clearer mids & some difference in the highs. I've never tried a Private Jack but they definitely do have a Greenback type sound except 'firmer' & a hell of a lot louder overall. Really deep & round but tight bass, incredibly crunchy & thick (but clear & open) mid's & sweet, present highs that never get harsh. :bigthumb:

Wow, your clip sounds killer!

A while ago, I really wanted to try a pair of those GB12's, but they don't make them in 16 ohms. Shame. I would've liked to pair them with V30's in my cab.

Re: NSD ...love the way it sounds :D

Holy hell, that sounds GREAT!

What does the rest of your rig look like?

Re: NSD ...love the way it sounds :D

Eh, I never said I recorded it at all :lmao: ..whenever I post my own stuff I mention it's mine and describe the gear used/recording process etc..

I found the clip on a site full of random speaker clips (not credited to anyone) & it's a great representation of the way it (GB128) sounds ..so..that's why I posted it.

I'd have linked to the site but I could'nt find it again so I just posted the clip instead..

Haha not me playing ..but thanks :D

It's a great representation of what they sound like though :bigthumb:

In my case it did'nt matter whether they were 8 or 16 ohms since I just wanted one for a 1x12

Here's one of my own :p ..at band practice yesterday with my AMT Stonehead & new GB128 1x12..just jamming with our drummer.

Wow, sounds great! Love that song too :bigthumb:

Mic'ing up speakers is a bit of a problem for me thanks to my nasty cranky neighbor's lol. An Iso cab would really come in handy. They had the Jet City one's in stores here for a while some time ago but I don't see any these days ...maybe I should try making one.
