Oh yeah! This happened fast and furious. Guy out in Long Island (about and hour and a half on a GOOD day) pops up an Agile 3000 on Craigslist asking a good price but says for the right offer he would sell. I look at the pics and it's not a 3000, but a 3000M. Now I just bought (not received, so another NGD is coming) that Epi Pro/Fx that I thought was going to cause me a very hard time with the wife, but I've already sold enough to cover the cost of that one, so I fired off an email asking what his bottom line was. He sent me a price, then a few minutes later sent me another lower price saying he really wanted to sell. I had to sell this to the wife and the big sell was that it was right near her best friend's house, so we could kill two birds with one stone by visiting her friend. I also mapped out my sales strategy to cover the cost of the guitar, and the three of us had a deal! With traffic, I spent over five hours round trip driving with no air conditioning, but it was worth it as we had a great day with the kids and the wife knew about this guitar up front, lol. Guys, it cost me $275 with the case. I actually feel bad for the seller when I get deals like this, but I had to do it.
The photos are pure crap. I must have taken over thirty pics to try and get good pics for you guys, but the flash ruined every pic and without it, they are too dark to see anything. I can't even begin to describe how beautiful this guitar looks. The black is so deep and perfect, and the abalone inlays really set it off. I usually don't like all black guitars, but in person, this is a stunning instrument. I was going to replace the EMG pickups, but now I don't know. They sounded great through my backup rig, and depending on the amp settings, they seem to be able to handle anything from hard rock to death metal. I was going to put either all black passives or zebra, but instead I may sell the pickups I had planned for this guitar. Now here is where I'm going to take a beating. DEPENDING ON THE MODEL OF GIBSON (please understand what I'm saying), this guitar's feel and sound are right up there. Lately I've played the Les Pauls that my buddy has bought (Jimmy Page, studio deluxe, standard, flood studio) and a traditional pro as well as my own 75 Custom, and this guitar feels just as high quality as they do. I've owned an Agile AL-3100, and I own an AL-2000, but they are in a different world compared to this one. Both are great, great guitars but they are not this one.
I wish Agiles were in a brick and mortar store so you guys could try them out because I never believed that the 3000M could be as good as the real deal, but I'm betting that when the honeymoon stage is over, I'll still think it. I hope so, lol. He told me that it still has the factory 10s on it, so this is a pretty new guitar. The frets look like they have no wear at all and there aren't any sharp edges, I can bend the strings to tomorrow without any dead frets, the fat E buzzes a little, but it doesn't come through the amp unless I'm using an acoustic simulator, which I'd never do with this guitar anyway. Sorry for the long post, but I'm pretty excited. I told my wife I may even turn right around and sell the Epi when it comes in.....or maybe not, lol. We'll see.
