Obligatory "Looking for a pickup" post

Hey guys,

I'm a big fan of old thrash metal, stuff like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anuGPwbflY8 Anyway, I play a Jackson Kelly KEXMG (Basswood body, maple neck), which comes with EMG 81/85 through a Blackstar HT 40 amp. After a year of using the Kelly, I've decided to switch the pickups out, and have already settled for a Duncan Distortion in the bridge position. On the other hand, I have no idea what I'm gonna do with the neck position. I usually reserve my neck pickup for lead playing, and i'm a big fan of warm, somewhat bassy lead sounds like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pH1gJlyQig. I guess the question is: What do you guys recommend?

Thanks a bunch.

You would probably like the DD neck model or you could go with a 59 or Alnico 2 pro in the neck.

Could tell that from your user name. ;)

Re: Obligatory "Looking for a pickup" post

Yeah I would try the DD set before I thought about a different neck pup,

The DD neck pickup is great! Nice thick tone along with that top end clarity.

Re: Obligatory "Looking for a pickup" post

The distortion set would be killer. or a JB in the neck is a GREAT lead pup!
