OD/TS pedal on budget

Hi I'm lookining for replacement for old OD pedal. So new shouldn't be much more expensive than 50$ and it can also be more like TS. Original TSs are too expensive, maybe only mini which is expensive too. What about EHX Soul Food?

I think you just missed out on Musician's Friend blowing out the Behringer Overdrive for $10.

Try to find the Joyo Vintage Overdrive, it's a decent TS clone with true bypass.

Re: OD/TS pedal on budget

I've been looking for those things and since I don't need treble and bass control on my OD and I guess that BAD monekey haven't got any true bypass... It is cheap and I own Nux OD3 already but it's not real TS, guess it's the same story with Joyo. So if there's any cheaper thing, maybe an EHX Soul Food?

Re: OD/TS pedal on budget

a great budget option is looking for an used MXR m66 on ebay, 50~60 bucks and it's basically a GT-OD/ZW OD in a cheaper casing

Re: OD/TS pedal on budget

The Joyo is as real of a TS as any clone. The Soul Food is a totally different animal.

The East River Drive is the E-H take on the Tube Screamer.

Another TS clone that is a very good pedal is the BBE Green Screamer. You can often find them used at very good prices. True bypass, and they came with a power supply in the box.

Re: OD/TS pedal on budget

I use a bad monkey, works great as a boost or a drive, and it had the 2 knob eq instead of one knob on a lot of TS type pedals. I love mine, I pretty much leave it on all the time now.

I was gonna post a link to that. Too late I guess. I got one, incredible price for how well the pedal works.

It's pretty hard to **** this one up if you're into DIY.

Re: OD/TS pedal on budget

The soul food is cool, but it's grittier and gainier than TS types. I consider it more of a distortion. Bad monkey is still a solid suggestion, as is the MXR classic OD.
