Odd Mesa Boogie 2x12

Over at www.petetownshend.co.uk i have been watching some of the free video and looking at the photo's of The Who's summer european tour.... in Pete's stage gear is 2 stacks of Fender Vibro kings.... But in the middle of the fenders is a Hiwatt head sitting on a Mesa Boogie 2x12... looks like an older cab as i don't think Boogie makes these any more...

It is a 2x12 with the top speaker angled like a 4x12 would.. metal speaker grill.... What era is this cab and has anyone seen these around?

I have not looked on that website but it sounds like the same one I own that is shown under my Goldtone head in the picture.

It is from the late eighties and has a ported bottom (which I closed off) and a removable back on the top chamber for closed or open back tone. The speakers originally were the Celestion/Mesa Black Shadows which I replaced with 2 English Celestion G12-H30s. It weighs about 55lbs. and is either birch or pine ply (no particle board or mdf). It's a bright cab by nature but very solid and portable. I use it with the Goldtone and at times with my Fender Super-sonic combo.

Ya that looks just like it... If it's a bright cab i bet the Hiwatt Pete has ontop of his makes it really bright
