Please help me, help Gibson police the marketplace by submitting counterfeit claims to their website.

Here's my first of many submissions submitted today -and please keep all claims legitimate:


Submitted for this counterfiet guitar -A 1990 Gibson Mach II (or at least that's who they say they are!)

The only thing evident is that there's nothing profound about it. This is the legal equivalent of poking a brick wall with a stick all the while snickering about how much of a badass rebel you are.

First, Gibson came for my Dean guitars. And I had a lot to say, because they were being unreasonable *******s.


Why do you want to wait until the Nazis have won? Make yourself heard now.

Basically, the entire internet's hair is on fire about this.... instrument makers forums, other guitar forums, music bloggers, video guys looking to cash in on the furor - even Mandolin Café has 13 pages so far. No one is defending Gibson with any fervor, it's a PR disaster that is growing worse by the hour. They should have just asked for a dollar from every disputed sale and it would be cheaper in the long run, with fewer angry people.

If you think being hunched over your computer pointing out hypocrisy by typing petty complaints over the internet, I can't argue with that. But if you think harassing some poor pencil pusher is gonna fall on anything but deaf ears, then you are misguided.

If I seem agitated, it's only because I stopped finding cheap shots at Gibson funny around the time they thought it would be smart to release a Hendrix signature Strat.

Notice the Firebird headstock and the "we didn't want to pay Fender licensing fees" offset Strat body. It comes complete with a crappy sticker on the pickguard.

That guitar was never released. I never noticed the firebird headstock.
