Oil Gibson push/pull pot shafts ?

Re: Oil Gibson push/pull pot shafts ?

Not good idea but perhaps a push/push pot. It's what I use - a bit easier to switch. Just an idea!

Re: Oil Gibson push/pull pot shafts ?

Pennzoil 25W50!,,,,or maybe Johnson's and Johnson's,,,,,,,,depends on the shaft.

Re: Oil Gibson push/pull pot shafts ?

Slather on some axle grease

Wash your hands first
Axl may get testy otherwise

Oh and no not WD40
That's different stuff altogether

Re: Oil Gibson push/pull pot shafts ?

They generally use a type of thick grease that won’t harm the plastic internals. Don’t add a thinner hydrocarbon or you’ll have a gooey mess in there.

Re: Oil Gibson push/pull pot shafts ?

I found out Deoxit D5 has a lubricant in it.
I just used that.

Re: Oil Gibson push/pull pot shafts ?

Don't worry, everyone does. It is easier to squirt it into the opening of the pot under the lugs.

Yes. With the Gibson PCB pots the opening is at the bottom, next to impossible to get to.
The tone pots & volume pots are 2 different types.
I could feel the action of the pots loosen up a bit after i used it.
Its a 2012 model but still very new.
