Ok I need a new amp bad.

Ok I'm finally tired of playing through the Pod into the P.A.. I need a decent tube amp for under 600 dollars. I realize ebay's the way to go. I don't care if it's a combo or a stack. Doesn't matter.
I need it to go decently clean to pretty heavy distortion.
I have a big muff. So that should help.

There's what kinda music I play. That should help a little.
Yall know alot more about amps than me so teach me.

Re: Ok I need a new amp bad.

Crate V32. Great cleans, very Voxish/Matchless style sort of, and a very nice overdrive channel thats somewhere between a Vox and a Marshall, and cleans up really good.

Re: Ok I need a new amp bad.

My buddy & I have a Rivera M60 for sale...

Two channel 50-60 watt head... two EL34... two channels, reverb, FX loop... huge footswitch... push pull on almost everything, pentonde/triode/ + full power/half power = bring it down to about 7 watts! total swiss army head. Bulletproof & great tone.

Under $600... I dunno how much exactly... it's his amp that I cleaned up. More then $400, less then $600. That's all I know...

PM me if it interests anyone...

Re: Ok I need a new amp bad.

Look into the Peavey Classic 30. I haven't played one, but a lot of people around here like them.

i love mine... bought mine used for a few Hundred bucks... that was money well spent... i've used that amp a lot

Re: Ok I need a new amp bad.

Is the Classic 30 loud enough to play small clubs and stuff? I've actually looked into the classic 50? But I don't hear a whole lot about the gain? Is it pretty solid?
What about an old used Fender Twin? I think I could get one off ebay for around 700 dollars.
I've also looked at the Valveking?
Opinions on all these would be appreciated.
Oh yeah, what about a JCM 900?

+1, i've got a club 30, which i'm pretty sure is the same amp but made ten years or so earlier.

I'd check out either Crate or Traynor tube combos. They seem to be the best bang for the buck.

Re: Ok I need a new amp bad.

the classic 30 is a great rock n roll box. 30 watts of tube is enough for most gigs, plus you can always mic it for larger venues through the PA

Re: Ok I need a new amp bad.

That Rivera is head and shoulders above anything else mentioned in this thread.

Go with the Rivera (before I do!).

Hey man... "I" almost bought that Rivera! haha

That and a bunch of other things will be in the trading post by midnight tonight...

Seriously though... that head will stomp all over a PV Classic, Lamey, Fender Hotrod or anything else you can get "new" for a few bills... and even most used things! If it weren't for the 'gigged' physical condition my friend would be asking for more...

Re: Ok I need a new amp bad.

the peavey valveking works really well too is switchable from A class to B class or A / B class very nice bang for the buck and not so heavy ya gotta have wheels under it.
