Ok knowers of pickups - recommend me a pickup

I've got an Ibanez "S" model from 5 years ago or so - mahogany body, rosewood board, floating floyd trem. After playing it stock for a long time I started playing in my friend's U2 cover band a couple years ago, and I've come to realize that it's a really dark sounding guitar. The notes seems to fall flat off it... they have no "bounce" at all.

So what I'm looking for is a humbucker that'll brighten the thing up AND put out a good clean single-coil sound. Something with some high-mids and presence. I've got a Rivera Hundred Duo Twelve, and I want it to have clairity and roar thought the dirty channel - jangle and character through the clean channel.

Any recommendations would be helpful, Duncans or not. I don't know if I'm giving enough or the right information so, ask if I'm not.

So yeah, um... help! I need to do something to this guitar but I don't know what!

I'd say check out a JB. The mids and presence leads me towards a Pearly Gates, but the PG may not be for you. Check out some clips on the " Tips and Clips " page, or the Seymour Duncan sound page. :)

Sounds like you want a set of humbuckers that'll make your Ibanez sound like the Edge's black Strat! I don't think that set exists. But in terms of humbuckers that sound great and split beautifully into single coils: JAZZ neck & JB bridge. Lew
