As the trembucker double creme (/cream) thing doesn't seem to have gone anywhere, I had a crazy idea that - to me anyway - doesn't seem unreasonable.

I was thinking that a cool idea for a new forum pickup...(whenever/if ever that may be a realistic option) would be a trembucker based on a Seth.

...So a PAF style pickup, based on a Seth Lover with maybe slightly more lower mids, between a Seth and a JB, trembucker pole pieces and designed for the bridge position of a strat and with four wires so it could be (partially?) split.

A PATB-5(5)B ?
SD could market it as an individual pickup, and also as at least one hss set with existing singles.

...and of course it could be made available in double creme for anyone interested.:D

Sounds like a Trembucker Brobucker. I don't know what Trembucker pole pieces are, however. I though all hummers use the same poles.

Parallel Axis poles, maybe?

If it's anything like the Blues Saraceno, I'd be interested. Heck, I wish Duncan would make a standard spaced PATB-3. I'd buy one in an instant.

Yeah, parallel axis poles was what I was referring to.

I have one and the PATB-3 is actually quite scooped. That's the only thing I don't like about it though.

Isn't the Brobucker a good bit higher output than paf?
Never played one, so I've no idea.

Brobucker has slightly more body than most PAF types but really is just a hair hotter.
I'd call it vintage-plus, but still well short of what most would consider medium output.
Not as hot as a Custom 5, or even the 59/C Hybrid.

If you're desperate, the Custom Shop should be able to make you one. The Forum run of Crazy 8's offered both standard and F spaced pickups. They have PA poles.

Output isn't the only thing to consider in the pickup equation.

i run my patb3 with an a2 magnet actually and i love it. the a5 was typically scooped as id expect. liked it a lot even with the a5 but im such an a2 bucker junkie it had to go

I still intend to approach SD again about the double-cream PATB effort for the forum peeps.

However, I'm currently in communication with them about something else far less involved and it's very slow going. One thing at a time...
