Ok, time for a Tube Amp...

It's finally time for me to step up from the Solid State world and get my first tube amp. I know I want a Fender and I would like to continue using my MXR Dime distortion pedal.
I'm looking for a good 1X12" or 2X12" tube combo amp -=Fender=-

Please reccomend something for me to check out. (nothing too expensive please, I will be trading my Half-Stack in towards it, but I'm still on a budget)

What style are you aiming for? What's your maximum price that you want to spend?

I'm not sure how well a metal distortion pedal would work through a Fender tube amp.... but how is the Dime Distortion??? And what amp are you running it through?

The Dime Distortion scoops the mids and I use it for high gain riffs ala Dimebag Darrell. I could trade it for an overdrive pedal I guess.

As for price, I could probably go up to the $700 range.

The sound I want is very nice sounding cleans with everywhere from a little distrotion all the way up to Dimebag Darrell riffage...
I'm going for more of an early Van Halen sound, but still want to get that screaming Pantera Power Metal out of it as well.

I just saw a Bassman Reissue at GC that sure looked sweet. $899 or something like that if I remember. Also, I really like the Deluxe Reverb RI....sweet little 22 watt amp. If I were going to get annother Fender amp....that's the direction I'd go. Also, I think Fender amps are great platforms for distortion boxes. Cleans to die for, and dial in your own style of od via pedal.

I know you specified fender but Ask Fiber-Optics about his 1x12 for sale. I own the same one and it kicks major ass. Nice cleans AND gain, and he only wants about 400 for it.

Check out the Hot Rod Deluxe. Sell only the head and keep your Cab from
your 1/2 stack. You can run a ext. cab w/t the HRD and get some major
crunch w/t the right stomp box.

I decided to go with the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 40 watts, 3 switchable channels.
I'm very satisfied so far, but I'll keep you updated on how awesome it is.

That I don't know yet ... I won't have an opportunity to use the Dime through it until Monday, but as soon as I do I will tell ya how it worked out.
