For some reason it just fell! I think I need one of those safety lock or something. Who makes good strap lock? Are those easy to install and work with? Thanks

Re: OMG my guitar fell!

I second the Schallers. Easy to install and is secure, although it can sorta be bulky.

I don't like the Dunlop straplocks.

Re: OMG my guitar fell!

schallers are perfect, come in gold nickel and black. dont bother with pre attached locks on straps such as the planetwaves

Re: OMG my guitar fell!

bummer about the fall.

I got done a few months ago with putting together the nicest super strat and had my tech make a super tight neck pocket. So my wife knocks the guitar over, the neck hits the floor and bam two stress cracks at the neck pocket.
Whatever, they are for playing right? as long as they are still functional.

Re: OMG my guitar fell!

The schallers are good... got them on all of mine. One word of warning though, and this may seem obvious, but if you fit them to a THICK leather strap .. check how tight the nut is on a regular basis. The leather compresses and the nut can become looose... I nearly had a BIG one with my L.P custom... the nut and washer flew off and I just managed to catch the guitar before it hit the deck! I like beat up and old looking guitars ... but I didn't fancy one with a Whammy NECK!!! Lol....

...and another vote for Schallers makes the Hat Trick.

Re: OMG my guitar fell!

Schallers are great, but for some guitars I actually prefer the DiMarzio plastic gasket locks. Light weight, zero modification, and rock rock rock solid.

Cheap, too.

Re: OMG my guitar fell!

+1 for Schallers.

I have them on all my guitars. Not a single problem. They've never let me down.

Schallers. But go to your hardware or autoparts store and get some loc-tite to put on the threads on the nuts that fit on the strap. I had the same above thing happen to me until I used loc-tite.

Re: OMG my guitar fell!

Does anyone know some online stores that have Schallers in stock? I ordered some a couple months back, but every place I found had them on back order.

Re: OMG my guitar fell!

My local Guitar Center stocks them. If no one local has any, the PM me and I can grab some for you.

Re: OMG my guitar fell!

schallers are good. BUT i've dropped my guitar while using shallers before too. so nothing is 100%

My strap was twisted and upside down, and somehow the shaller straplock unhooked and the les paul took a flat dive onto my steel pedalboard, fingerboard-down. No serious damage was done, but i had to raise action since then, because i got buzz immediately after the drop. Bummer.
