one guitar one amp one stompbox

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

Orange have just put out a 'rockerverb' twin channel head and combo. sounds like what you're after...

 let's just hope it's not discontinued by the time I have the $$ to spare!

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

Fat Strat w/ some sort of vintage single coils and a JB for the bridge.

Ernie Ball Volume

Dual Rectifier.

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

Original '59 Les Paul
Soldano SLO 100 with V30 loaded 4x12 cab
Klon Centar

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

I'd probably go with...

Custom made ESP or Jackson: Mahogany with flame maple top, ebony fretboard, sperzel tuners... probably EMG 81/60,

Mesa Dual Rectifier or Mark IIC+

A boost/overdrive pedal... probably a tubescreamer or something like that

I already posted this in your OD/Boost thread, but I'll put it up again;

I set all my amps controls with my guitars volume just under 8.

- When I play clean, the volume sits around 2 or 3.

- When playing dirty rhythm, the volume sits between 3 and 8.

- When playing lead, the volume get's dimed.

I used to ride the volume knob on my Strat, but good ol' Les Paul decided to put his volume knobs in such a pain in the ass location.......

- Les Paul Goldtop w/ Bigsby (B6?) and a set of P-90 Antiquities.

(Hmmm... the guitar was easy for me, let me think about the others... Ok, let's keep it simple)

- Microamp

- Marshall Plexi

Can I bring my earplugs too?? :32:

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

Guitar: 1980 Les Paul Silverburst
Amp: Bogner XTC
Pedal: Original Univox Univibe

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

All bets off, no money limit?

A real light '57 Goldtop into a smokin' SLO-100 on top of 2 matching 4x12's, pedals? What they hell are those? OK maybe an old MXR-90 or an original Small Stone.

If there's a budget A nice cherry '57 Jr. into a Hot Rod 50+ with matching 4x12 cab.

If I have to pay....

A good LP Standard into a XXX running EL34's. Kind of what I have now.

Man ... it's amazing the effect that GJ had on this place ... Everwhere I go people are wanting Ecstacies and Matchless ... man you brought some high price gas to this forum. I don't remember that many people talking about Bogner's before you came

Yep, I'm a severe case. :smack: :laugh2: Don't mind me. :32:

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

I prefer to think of GJ as having "enlightening the masses." haha! Seriously though I've listened to/played a LOT of different amps from having worked in a large music store and being an incurable gear Junkie... the Bogner Ecstacy 101B is the only amp that I've heard nail the tones I'm hearing in my head.

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

srv's strat
hendrix's fuzzface
hendrix's plexi

then i'd have a gajillion dollars, half of which would go to a psychologist to cure me of GAS & the desire to play guitar, and the rest, eh, it's half a gajillion dollars, what CAN'T you do with it?

seriously tho, umm

my tele hh blackout, but 2 less frets, hhh being 59-pg-59 with individual on/off switches for each coil

master volume twin, which retained clarity up till about 8, then just got raunchy as hell, with a pair of eminence red white & blues

and my modded blues driver

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

I'd have a LP (with some kind of PAF style pups), into a twin channel OD like a G2D Custom Overdrive or a G2D Classic Overdrive, then into a 50w 1987x Plexi with a couple of 4x12's :)

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

I'd go with:

LP Black Beauty (3PU - JB-59-Jazz w/ custom wiring for splits etc.)

Diezel VH4 w/ matching 4x12

Line 6 DL4

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

I'd half my rig and let it through the 4x12": LPS, JH1S Cry Baby, cranked Marshall.

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

MY ideal gear:

Guitar:Godin LG(humbucker)
Amp:Marshall JCM800
Pedal:bah who needs em... well maybe a boos SD-1 over the marshalls distortion for boost.

Re: one guitar one amp one stompbox

A Strat with the pickups I want (still looking for "my set")

If it's as good as the reviews make it sound, a purple Soldano Hot Rod 50+

And like...Electro-Harmonix Small Clone chorus...so i can trip out.
