One of the best guitar songs of all time Sultans of Swing recorded with partscaster?

Probably old news but as usual I am way behind read that MK's guitar was a partscaster mix of Japanese and Fender parts.
Any arguement about this being one of the best guitar songs of all times? Any opinions about better would really like to hear about.

Not suprising since 70's Fenders weren't that good, as were Gibsons

When you're Mark Knopfler ...well the guitar is really only the last few percent of the equation.

His style is so unique, that I don't think it matters what guitar it is at all. He is like Allan Holdsworth- the gear is transparent.

One of a handful of songs that thrills me as much now as when I first heard it. An all time classic. Mark is an amazing songwriter/story teller/musician/guitar player.

love his playing. mark had two red strats, a '61 rw board and the maple neck which john suhr said was a parts guitar. the rw board was probably used on the demo's but any strat type guitar in his hands will sound great
