Opinion on PRS SE Soapbar?

There's a used one in mint condition at the local GS. We never have them where we live and I was wondering what you guys thought of these guitars??

I tried to like it; it reminded me of the old Epi Crestwoods. But something just didn't work; the scale length or the pickups. Too brash, bright, no low end...not what I was expecting from a mahogany body. Maybe it was just a bad one...

Check out the sounds I am getting out of this one:

I paid way less than 3 bills for mine and it has replaced my Made in U.S.A. 1996 Stratocaster as my number one go-to axe. At about 1/5 the price of the Strat, it's more guitar.

I use it for every gig, every recording, and it's the first guitar I reach for when I need to play.

edit: It's important to note that "PRS SE Soapbar" = Singlecut, and "PRS SE Soapbar II" = Double cut. When you read PRS SE Soapbar, assume Singlecut body shape, not the doublecut PRS shape.

The only thing better is a killer Gibson Les Paul Junior except that (gulp), It's not really better than the SE. Just get it. You won't be sorry.
