opinions on dimarzio chrome tops?

EXTREMELY overpriced, yes. but cool? debateable. i was just wondering to myself, how would my carvin look with the ofr, 2 chrome mountin rings and 2 chrome pickups? would it be totally awesome or totally absurd? whats your opionon on the chrome tops?

Hey, when the whole "vintage is cool" thing blows over, and is has in the past - those chromes are some music video type stuff - very hot.

Man, they're cool, but that price tag is freakin rediculous. There aint no way it can cost THAT much more to produce em. They're playin the "novelty market" here.

Musicians Friend sells regular Dimarzios for $60-$70 USD.

Chrometops sell for $120.

Ridiculous.

If it's just a shiny coating or sticker then that's a ripoff IMO.


I have no use for them anyway....I just like different colors.

I first saw these a couple months ago on Dimarzio's website and thought they were so cool that I'd try a couple.

That was my plan until I found out that the chrome toppers were a $60 option. Cool, but not $60 cool.

Someone should take some aluminum tape and try it with an old pickup just to see how it looks.

For $120-140 you can get a regular DMZ here, I wonder what a chrome topped one would cost. Maybe $200? Even a covered BKP costs a lot less than that here. :smack:

Their very good for the right guitar, but I'm staying with my all time favourite, the double black.
