Darthwolfgang, first let me say this: I'm not Peavey fan, nor a XXX fan, but I will give you my honest opinion. The other guitarist in my band had an Ultra, and a good friend of mine has one, as well, who is in another band.
I think that while the clean sound is decent, the gain channel is absolute poop. It's both shrill, and muddy. It has a chalky, cheap sound to it that makes me want to run away screaming when I hear it!

Now the other side:
I'm a diehard Peavey fan, love my XXX to death, am saving for a 5150, and hate that amp. Nowhere near the XXX.
