Opinions on the ABR-1 vs. Nashville TOM

My SG classic has an ABR-1 TOM. It seems more flimsy than the Nashville bridge. I'm wondering why they even use the ABR-1 anymore. Is there a greater advantage to having the posts mounted dirctly into the wood instead of bushings?

It sounds different, feels different, looks different and is "Historically Correct"... that´s the reason ;)

An SG Classic is a guitar where the "Historically Correct" part is the most likely reason, BTW....
