I have only seen online reviews and low quality you tube videos but the feedback on these newer style amps seem fairly favorable. I have yet to hear one in person as I don;t live close to a shop that has this product.

So, any opinions fro those that have tested them or own them?

It's more or less a POD X3 Live that's been stripped down in features and put into a tube amp, so it's not some super unique product in their line up.
Would be a better idea just to get an X3, so then you can use any power amp you want rather than have to be stuck with just the one you get with the Spider.

Having actually played through it and having see and heard its use in a friends cover band that does everything from PF to 3 doors down, its a darn good amp.
I cannot really fault it in any way except to say it has no really personality of its own. It can mimic almost everything and very well. It has the growl, the punch, and the power to pull it all off. There is really nothing wrong with it. Does it float my boat, no, not really.... I am a Mesa type of guy and I have not found anything I like better...Mesa Lonestar to be exact. So test drive it, see if it floats your boat!

OH, by the way, NEVER, and I mean NEVER, base your opinion on what I or anyone else in this forum thinks about a product. Each of us find our own routes and paths to our music and some through the most inexpensive, and under appreciated equipment every designed. Wisdom gained over my few years on this planet. I have had a old 8 watt Kalamazoo amp that would just give me cold chills, I loved it. Would you like it.... don't have the slightest idea, but I would really like to have it again.

Yeah, based on what I have read it does a good job of modelling other tones. I think you could get some original sounds out of it if you spent time tweaking the controls for your own use instead of just punching up a preset. I think that is the trap with such gear, well any new gear that offers such presets, it is just too easy to just punch in a great sounding preset and go.
I think I might just have to find one in a shop and give her a listen.
You can grab the HD150's for about $400 and that is 150 watts but solid state or go with the HD100 which is only 100watts but tube based for about $900. Big difference in price there but tubes are always more expensive then SS.

Super versatile amps that can convincingly reproduce tons of signature tones. I love em.

Sure, they seem like really cool units based on what I have heard. I have got to get to a shop where they offer the HD100 ona nice cab and hear what it has to offer. Don't know if it is for me or not but I will never know until I check it out.

I am just looking to see what other people think of it but I base my opinion on my own ears. Afterall the amp is for me and my music. I enjoy discussing these topics though a person can say, those are great but have a listen to these...etc. Information is always good.

I've got no beef at all with ANY Line 6 amplifiers. Hell, they work and they work well. They're never going to put Marshall or Fender or Vox or whatever out of business, but they have a quality product.
