Opinions on the Marshall MG412 cabs?

I know there are better cabs out there. There is one locally for sale for what I think is a decent price. I haven't went to look at it yet. Looking for some opinions on them.

Re: Opinions on the Marshall MG412 cabs?

Had one for quite a while. Honestly, it sure as hell isn't a bad cab considering how light it is. Its about 25-35% smaller than the average marshall cab and weighs maybe 2o lbs less. I'm not a big guy and i could haul it around by itself. That said, I got a real marshall 1960A cab following that and never, ever, looked back. I'd say if your great deal is $150 or less, go for it because you can always pass it on. If not, i predict you're going to outgrow it quickly and loose money when it comes time to let it go. Just trying to hedge your bets.

If you're not set on the look of a 4x12, my orange 2x12 closed back has twice the sound and twice the output of that old MG series...

I think I can get it for less than $100. I was thinking it might be alright for smaller heads like the Tweaker or the new Class 5 heads that are supposed to be coming soon. I haven't decided whether I want to grab it or not yet. I don't want to get into the habit of buying things "just because".

The MG series of amps are just Chinese practice amps with 100watt power amps. These things are worse than the valvestate things that came out before them. I wouldnt touch anything from the MG range.
