Orange Micro Dark

Empty Pockets

BadHairDayologist
The rest of the internet is buzzing about this, figured I'd make sure you guys had heard:

I loved my Micro Terror but I gave it to my little sister because she had no amps and I have several. I feel like this is the universe telling me I deserve a treat. Looks like it has an overall darker tone, cleaner cleans but higher gain available, a bit tighter of a tone and the coolest thing, an FX loop. I'll be buying the first one that arrives at my store :smokin:

Re: Orange Micro Dark

From the few online demos I've heard so far, I like it better than the original Micro, and I even like it better than the bigger Dark Terror!

Re: Orange Micro Dark

Hmm, I like. I would pair it with a 50 Watt C-Rex in a closed cab and see how it would sound.

Re: Orange Micro Dark

Yeah I think these are great little sounding amps.I like it better than the original micro myself also. The tone is defintely better to my ears. And the effects loop is awesome. Sweetwater has them for sale now for 189.00 I believe was the price? I would get one to mess around with. However, I just got a DSL40C Marshall and that is my baby now.Great sounding amp.But I do like Orange amps. If I was to get an Orange I may just get a OR15 though.

Re: Orange Micro Dark

I thought about getting the OG micro terror, but the lack of effects loop put me off. I know it's a cheap little amp, but I like to use a little reverb and delay every now and then. Now the micro dark has more gain and the effects loop? Sold.

Re: Orange Micro Dark

I went thru my gun safe earlier and found a rifle I've never even put a bullet in.
It is for sale, I'm gonna order one of these and a cabinet as soon as it sells.

Re: Orange Micro Dark

I just bought a Marshall DSL40C but I still may just get one of these for the hell of it.I do like Orange and Marshall amps. This would be a fun little amp to play on I think. For 189 and then pick a cab. I was curious about something maybe you guys can answer?? Could I actually but just this head and plug it into preamp in on my old Peavey bandit and use it as a preamp?????Throught its effect loop??

Re: Orange Micro Dark

If the doesn't flake out Monday, I'll be ordering one of these after I get the cash.
I sold one my deer rifles to get one of the first ones of these.

Re: Orange Micro Dark

Is this a practice and recording amp?
I've seen vids of dudes play the original Micro Terror with a full band, but I wouldn't dream of doing that with a loud drummer without the power section either sounding like a beehive or a wet fart, lol.

I used it a practice once when my amp was packed up from a show. It wasn't bad and the band were certainly impressed but it was a bit muddy running flat out thru a 4x12. It sounds better with my 4x10, it's 8 ohm vs 16 for the 4x12 so that probably helped it out.

Re: Orange Micro Dark

I just put mu pre-order in for my EVH 5150 III Lunchbox amp, but this is intriguing me... I love my Tiny Terror but it needs more gain and an effects look so I was looking for a used Dark Terror, and this comes out much cheaper. I'll be ordering one

I have a 5150iii 1x12 that I love.. I am with you, I wanted a Jim Root though but this is much more versatile and really fits my needs for a small portable head I can plug into a board or a cabinet.
