I have two positions out of phase in a HH configuration. Please read all the info because everything you'll need to help is included below, I hope.
Two Humbuckers
Ibanez 3PS1SC5 switch
Porter Pickups Classic Humbuckers
NS = Black
NF = Green
SF = White
SS = Red
The 3PS1SC5 switch is designed for the following configuration and I have it wired according to published layouts - diagram below.
1. Neck standard confiiguration
2. Neck Parallel
3. Neck + Bridge humbuckers in parallel
4. Inner Coils in Parallel
5. Bridge standard configuration
I carefully transposed the color codes and double checked the switch orientation.
I wanted to split to both slug coils (inners) and had to wire the bridge pickup "inside out" ( Red + and Black to ground) in order to split to its slug. The neck is wired normal and splits to its slug by default. In order to arrange the magnets for hum-canceling, I flipped the bridge magnet which made the polar orientation (neck ) SN SN (bridge).
The switching is working properly in all positions, but in positions 3 and 4 the sound is out of phase. I don't want to give up hum canceling or splitting to the inner slug coils if there is a work around. I've tried a few things and am now at a loss on how to keep the hum canceling, keep the splits to the inner slugs, and still get positions 3 and 4 in phase.
What am I missing here?
Here is the diagram I used.
