Re: P-90 in MIM Strat?
Yeah, I checked the specs, those soapbars are deeper and wider than humbuckers.
Because they're wider and deep this would mean there'd be some cutting into the pickguard as well right? Would that also misplace/move the controls?
Could I possibly buy an H/S/S pickguard and cut into that?
And really, I'm reading the little summary of what each pickup can do and I'm not really sure which one to choose, any suggestions?
I bought this Yamaha AES "something" semi-hollowbody at a Pawnshop (no model name or number) and I absolutely love the sound of P-90s now. The clarity of single-coils with the punch of humbuckers; it's like the best of both worlds!
Anyway, I currently have a SD '59 in the bridge position and while I like, it's just not doing anything for me. I also have a JB in another one of my guitars...and I'm digging that...so I dunno, maybe something like the P-90 equivolent of a JB? That's so stupid isn't it? Anyway, yeah, I'm going to track down the model number for those Yamaha soapbars (they're dog-eared though) and get back to you to see if there's an SD equivolent.
Thanks for the help!
