P Bass with Fender Amp and HUM!

Re: P Bass with Fender Amp and HUM!

+1

Post #9 namechecks the Fender American Standard Precision Bass.

Post #12 mentions some undisclosed student instrument.

Which bass guitar is involved in the hum problem? If the offending instrument is not the Am Std P, it would help to be told was is.

Looks like another of Midget Triad/Diminished Koala's trolling threads.
Sorry. Two separate bands and teach different groups at different times. One set of "mini-instruments" and after the great answers to the PBass question I figured the group would have one for the mini-bass......and sounds like they found it. The small one is an Ibanez bass, if that makes a difference. Not trolling............can send pics of instruments if you'd like and even of little kids jamming. No reason to wait until you are a teenager these days to form bands and jam.....some decent reduced versions of bass and guitars available. Thanks again.....the advice re the PBass really made a difference. We now ensure our effects boxes etc are using a different circuit from the bass amp itself, and a few other minor adjustments really made a difference. Played at a gig this weekend with separate circuits and no "hum" anywhere!

Re: P Bass with Fender Amp and HUM!

Any chance you gonna reply to this post or am I just wasting my time?
With the small Ibanez bass......you probably hit it right on. Because it's an entry level "mini-bass" not sure if worth the trouble to redo the pickups etc.....but will ask a guitar tech friend how long he thinks it would take to make this happen.
Thanks again.............sorry for the delay in responding and appreciate your good advice!

I live in a country that imprisons people for exchanging photographs of minors.
