P-Rails wiring help (I know I know)

This should be pretty simple, but, I'm used to wiring them with all the bells and whistles but this customer has a simple request that's throwing me off..

"push push for hum/P-90, and when they are in p-90 mode wire them out of phase for that sprongy tone w/ no buzz".

I was under the impression that's pretty much how they are wired out of the box.. If you connect them with only a single push pull to put both of them in P90 mode (ignoring the rail function altogether), they are hum cancelling in center pickup selector position.

But after reading though the PRails bible again... I'm a bit confused

Re: P-Rails wiring help (I know I know)

To clarify, you are wiring two P-Rails pickups to one DPDT switch for simultaneous coil split with the additional expectation of electrical phase reversal with noise cancellation.

P-Rails are constructed so that any pair of identical coils will be noise-cancelling when combined electrically in phase. If you then reverse the phase of one coil, the noise-cancellation will be lost.

Re: P-Rails wiring help (I know I know)

Are you sure you're not getting "reverse" mixed up with "out of phase"?

You're not going to get split of both pups AND oop with just one DPDT push/push switch.
