p-rails wiring problem

Accidently I bought a on-on-on mini toggle switch instead of a on-off-on as suggested by SD website. will that still work?

also I wanted to change the sequence from blade>HB>P90 to blade>P90>HB.

is that possible to be done with a on-on-on mini toggle? if so how should I wire them?

What did you want the switch to do??

The on/on/on switches are most often used for series/split/parallel.....the wiring gurus will perhaps know more but I'm not sure 1 switch will give you the option of both split coils.

For p-rails the tripleshot is by far the best option.

Yes, you can do rail/HB/P-90 with the middle position being either series or parallel. It's against the nature of the switch to rearrange the positions, though - the dual-coil setting has to be in the middle.

I'm not sure if I want the parallel mode. all I want is blade>P90>Series HB.

Reason being I want the switch to go from lowest to highest output.

for on-on-on switch can anyone please provide a wiring diagram?

So the red and white would be on the outer poles of the switch then??

I'm interested to see this as I have a few guitars with DPDT and it would be good to have options

Ok, these are for a DPDT on/on/on where the middle position connects 2-3 and 4-5 on a switch labeled like so:
1 4
2 5
3 6

First, slug/series/screw coil(or rail/full/P-90 if you're using a P-Rails).

Hot-o o
    o-o-Red+White
    o o-Ground

Next, slug/parallel/screw coil.

       o o-Hot
 White-o o-Red
Ground-o o

And, I actually figured out how to do what the OP wanted:

         o o-from lug 2
to lug 4-o o-Red+White
  Ground-o o-Hot

Sorry for the ASCII art - I'm tired and sick and doing this properly in an image editor takes way too much time.

Have you tried parallel? For these pickups it is one of the sweetest in my opinion. Definately a must for PAF sounds and getting classic rock sounds. Remember the P-Rails are a little hot in series.

havent arrived yet. I'm ordering it for my warmoth. warmoth havent even ship out my parts yet.

any clip about the parallel sound? not sure about the sound..

+1 for Triple Shot mounting surrounds. My personal preference is to have the micro switches sliding towards whichever single coil I wish to select at the time. Simples!!

P-90 work so well!

but another question, my 2nd and 4th position is a lot quieter than pos 1,3 and 5.

I also have a neck on mod, so the 4th pos with neck on the sound is SOOOO thin...

what can be the problem? or is this the nature of this kind of wiring?

You haven't described your setup. What pickups, switches and pots are you using, and what do you want for each switch position?

PUs are:

Neck: DiMarzio Cruiser Bridge
Mid: DiMarzio Area 58
Bdge: Seymour Duncan P-Rail Hot

5 way for switching between PUs.

1. Neck
2. Neck+Mid
3. Mid
4. Mid+Bdge
5. Bdge

ON-ON-ON for P-rail config.
Vol (500k)is a PUSH-PUSH for neck on mod
2 tone (500K), 1 for neck, i for mid and bdge.

So my problem is pos 2 and 4 is way softer than the others. is there anything i can balance out the output? or is that how it is supposed to be?

If 2 and 4 reduce volume, then I'd suggest the issue is with the Area 58. How does it sound alone in pos 3? Seems like it's in parallel with the other two.
