i just Got a keeley Ds-1 ultra for christmas, i love it also. that seeing eye mod should be awarded the Nobel price. it just makes my guitar's tone roar without coloring it...also love that it does not sound thin and wimpy like the stock DS-1

Congrats on a way cool xmas gift!!

I got the stock DS-1 to sound acceptable, but there's still no comparison to the Keeley. What i did with the stock one for my hard rock sound was put the tone at about 9-10 o clock, put the level at about 2-3 o clock and the gain at about 2 o' clock. I'm still figuring out my Keeley DS-1 settings but I haven't found a bad one yet! This thing just eats my bandmates alive... my drummer's reaction upon hearing a few Zep licks through it was like, "Hee hee yeeeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhh!" :laugh2:

Shole 'nuff. :D He's actually pretty sharp... he can even tell the difference between chords!

Seriously... he's good at telling me how my tone is doing because he listens actively to my playing and puts in rhythmic accents if he can hear me doing a distinct pattern.

So he's really a percussionist?
