PAF's Main differences

Hello brothers, I would like to know the main differences beetween those models: Seth Lover, 59 and Pearly Gates. Anyone can tell me the differences in how they sound in Les Paul type guitars (In my case, an explorer)?
I'm really curious about the Pearly Gates combo, but the 59's are easier to find here and I can get 'em with nickel cover, that I would love. The Seth's are really expensive here, but..if that's the sound, i'll buy it when I get some good money.
The sound that I'm searching is blues, classic rock , southern rock and 80's hard rock

Re: PAF's Main differences

The Seth Lovers have nickel covers...they're made exactly like an alnico 2 paf from 1958. Nice thick mids and a fat complex tone.

The 59's usually have no nickel covers and use an alnico 5 magnet so they have more bass and more treble, IMO, and a little less midrange than the Seth Lover.

The Pearly Gates usually have no covers and have a more open voice to the mids and more clarity to the mids than the Seth Lovers and seem brighter than the Seths. Pinch harmonics are al ittle easier to get with the PG's...although all three are killer pickups and can get nice pinch harmonics.

Thanks again Lew!
It's like.. I have an idea how they sound..but sometimes I'm a little afraid of get something too bright. I have no experience with low output pickups on this guitar, and I've tried options like JB, Distortion, EMG's, 500T and they all sound awesome, but too heavy. Tomorow i'll do some experiences with a super distortion on bridge position and let's see what happens.. that's just because i've got and old one here at home and never tried on this guitar
I think those 3 pups are the real choice for classic rock aren't they? If I can't go wrong with those 3 models, and they are "quite" similar, I think the PG's are my choice

I'd go for the PG's if I wanted black or zebra coils....and I'd probably go for the Seth Lovers if I wanted nickel covers.

I really like the 59's too but of the three I suggest the PG's or Seths more often.
