man do I have a problem, sister 's boy friend has a business where he buys all kinds of stuff in lots like estate sales and things like that. he got the subject items and my sister is giving to me for birthday present.

have s Stratocaster with Texas Specials - Les Paul with Fishman humbuckers - telecaster lil 59 and SSL-1.(set of Seth Lover's)

:dunno: Cool stuff but what to use as already seem to have everything I need. Gotta put something together, don't want to hurt sisters feelings, she was really excited about this as I have been asking for a few years if any cool guitar shows up let me know...WP_20170101_20_33_11_Pro.jpg
looks like too much work, maybe donate it to Peabody for some poor aspiring guitar player.

Dunno which DiMs they are off the top of my head...

'Zit missing teh bridge or am I? Any more acc/parts/case,etc?Honestly, looks like some things I've got laying around,'cept no Teles...

all the parts came with it, bridge electronics just gotta put it together once I can decide which of the pickup to use, donnu know, maybe distortion bridge and A II Pro neck?

That combo wouldn't be my 1st choice,mebbe try the DiMs or mix them in..

You don't list anything P90 flavored in your arsenal, so I'd go with the Bluesbuckers. I've become a huge fan of having two of the same or at least two very similar pickups.

Never had Dimarzio p'ups in a guitar so will go with what y'all suggest.

Looks like a fun project. I'd go with whatever pickups are really far away from what you currently use. You might have a great playing and sounding guitar with nothing but time invested...cool!

Sister found an AXL Les Paul skeleton in a box, body all routed, necked glued in but no frets just little thin cuts where frets go. Is it difficult to install frets?

Looked around the net and found sites that made it sound relatively easy and others that made it sound like performing open heart surgery requiring very special and expensive tools.

No clue. But please let me know if this means you're forsaking the G&L for the Les Paul, kind of want something to throw a few pickups in myself :) Is that an archtop? My dad has a nice Tribute model, the fretwork is a bit wonky (seems to have somewhat flatter relief toward the bass side,) but it's a very nice feeling guitar overall.

I am so confused....The G&L is a carved top and the neck feels great, lean and mean. Already have a Les Paul and a Telecaster so don't know what to do just now...sister threw too much at me all at once, not used to be overwhelmed by gear.

It's not the worst dilemma :D But funny that the G&L is exactly between your other guitars. Did you get the bridge with it? A quick google/eBay seems to show saddle-lock bridges as a bit scarce to find...

Yes, got the whole thing, bridge and electronics didn't show in the picture. Just bought a Telecaster, first guitar purchase in about 12 years and then am swamped with guitar projects. And the real funny thing is that my new years resolution was to gear less and play more.

Found another little box that I didn't see before. Had 3 blue Lace Sensors in it. Guess I'll put 'em in a pickguard and swap them into my Strat and see how they compare to the Texas Specials I have been using forever. Any Lace Sensor onions out there, curious what I'm in for?

(should have the ASAT put together with the Dimarzio's Sunday.)

I've always wanted to revisit sensors... I had custody of a Strat Plus for a long while with some rainbow colored set, they were a bit too dull for my taste; they did the "quack" of the Strat and lacked EQ spikes but I missed much of the traditional Fender single coil character. I think I might like them more with my current style/rig, vs. my feelings on them from ten years ago.

Alumitones... THOSE are great pickups :)

Just checked DCR 1 14.5, the other 2 12.8. Dang high DCR for a Strap pichup isn't it?

I no longer hold any stock to DC resistance... I have one set of custom wound Strat pickups where the bridge is like ~14k (So Quarter-Pounder grade looking only at DC,) but they're perfect output to my ears. I have a mag-pole humbucker in a Jazzmaster casing that is ~10k; a stock Jazzmaster pickup at like ~6k overpowers that GRANDLY. Lace sensors are a funny design, so not comparable with any Strat single coil (and Strat single coils are not even comparable to each other DC-wise without considering a lot more of the build.)
