Pairing a 59n w/a WLH bridge?

I have a fully hollowbody guitar that I have a 59n (no cover) that I am going to install and now looking for a bridge pup. Was originally going to just go with a 59b but now thinking maybe I want a hotter pup in the bridge. Would having a WLH in the bridge even pair at all with a 59n in a hollowbody? Curious on thoughts on this.

Welcome to the forum!

The WLH is a great choice for the bridge. Going much hotter risks feedback in a hollowbody.

After having both sets in the same les paul, I don't know if the WLHb is noticeably hotter than the 59b, even if the specs say it is. I didn't do any scientific back to back testing, but they seemed about the same, though I suppose I might have set the WLH lower. I do think they're EQed better though, so I do vote for trying the WLHb.

thanks for the replies! so given what I am reading here, the WLH bridge would be an ok pairing with a 59n?

I'd go with a WLH in the bridge slot, it's warmer and fuller, more balanced EQ. Great PU. For me, a '59B needs a warmer magnet, like an UOA5.

Check your local ordinances to make sure it's allowed, but normally, yes. ;)

'59's have more low end than some neck HB's, if that happens, it's usually in an LP or 335. Popular fix on the forum is putting in an A4 magnet.
