Panama Amplifiers Kick Serious A$$!!!

That's it......

LOL, the thing sounds amazing and it just looks stunning!!! I literally just got it about 45mins ago so I can't give it much of a review yet but my first impression is that she & I are going to have a long & happy relationship together! Hopefully for years to come...

With my Holy Grail running through the loop it kinda reminds of a Twin Deluxe but with twice the gain on tap & oddly enough twice the headroom as well??? I know that sounds oxymoronic, or perhaps just moronic, but I don't know how else to word it? It stays nice and clean up till about 12:00-12:30 & then it starts breaking up. Once it gets started it seems to get quite gainny quite fast & by 4:00 it's nearly too much! At least for the type of gain it throws out, plus I'm also running a E.Q. pedal so that's pushing it a little harder than normal as well... Anyhow, a 6505 it's not but for Hard Rock, Blues, Exc., I think it's going to be perfect!!!

I will write a better & more in depth review once I've had a chance to run some different guitars, cabinets, & effects through it. I've only had a chance to run it @ 4ohms through my old 68 Fender 2X12 so far but she sounded pretty sweet!!!

I'm working on another 2X12 right now (that will hopefully become the LOCO's permanent cabinet) but the cab is currently wired in series for a 16ohm mono load with two 8ohm drivers, so I've got to switch the wiring from series to parallel & put in two 16ohm speakers. I'm planning on making it a Vintage-30/Creamback combination cab, which is I.M.H.O. the Holy Grail of all 2X12 speaker combinations!!!

LOL, that's funny! I was just telling my girl that I bet someone would post a Panama link...

I'm wanting a Shaman or a Fuego, I love the Shaman Retro. I'll have one next year.

Re: Panama Amplifiers Kick Serious A$$!!!

I knew when I saw your previous thread that you got a sweet amp at a great price....and that I want one.

My Orange Tiny Terror is in the same ballpark, but it bums me out that it lacks an FX loop. I guess I could just run my Holy Grail into the front.

I should spend a few hours running it through all my nice cabs to see what's best.
I normally use it with a straight Jubilee G75 cab. I thought it sounded better than my V30 Bogner 212 with that particular amp.

You've got me looking at Panama amps though. So much coolness for the price.

These have all the gain that a T.T. does, & then some. It's actually probably closer to a Dark Terror as far as how much gain and the flavor of the dirt that I get out of it? Plus it's got a whole lot more headroom, takes pedals a lot better, & of course the effects loop! All stuck inside a beautiful cabinet for about the same price as a good used T.T., they're pretty hard to beat as far as "BANG FOR YOUR BUCK"!!!

Lol, I've already got myself looking at other possible heads to buy in the future & I haven't even paid for this one yet! I've got a feeling that these are going to jump in price once a few more of them get out there and people have a chance to see exactly how much amp you can get for $300-$600!!! I'm guessing it's going to happen sometime over the next year or two, so I'd advise getting one while the getting is still good!!!
