Re: Parker guitar pickup height
As luck would have it, just posted some details in the thread about coolrails- Keep in mind that the nitefly is maple so I was working with bright to start with, and am after a wide variety of sounds and I have the HSS set up and note that all are 2 rail for a reason-
JB is in bridge is great for classic rock and splits well for strat quack- Rather bright, but can roll tone back a bit on less agressive stuff, and it would be less bright with practically any other wood.
Went with Dmzo crusier in mid and all I can say is it is absolutly perfect for that position in my parker-
Cool rails in neck turns out to be too hot and bright, except for one thing.
My signature sound is slighlty overdriven knophlerish, but I'm using this gtr to play out and needed just about every sound in the book- So I have a pretty wild (but easy mod) to get most of my sounds. It's a coil roll of pot that thins out the umbucking sound to almost a songle coil feel, or thickens up a lot with lots of variety in the middle- But recently learned that this mod is actually keeping 3 coils on and blending in a 3rd.
Long story is that it gives a ton of variety and I have the same setup on a swampash strat- The coolrails works very well in this mode, but when I defeat the coil roll off, it is too brite and agressive-
Back to you - What wood is the body?
