partial coil split formula?

I'm experimenting with partial coil splits with humbuckers and I've been trying to work out the formula to predict the DC resistance and how much of each coil is being used. But my oatmeal brain is not cooperating lol. Anyone know how the work this out using the coil Ohm measurements and resistor used?

I didn't use a formula. If you're doing this with a PAF class pickup, start with a 2.2K resistor and go from there. Use clips to secure the resistor in place and then solder it in when you find the value you want. My goal was to get the DC resistance of the partial split to be between 5-6K.

Exactly like that. Use a 25k or 10k trim pot for the resistor held in with alligator clips and when you find a sound you like, measure it and solder in a resistor closest to that value
