Some may remember this post a while back where I wired the Screamin' Demon using a partial split. https://forum.seymourduncan.com/foru...split-like-prs
Since it was time to restring my main guitar (Warmoth Strat with Whole Lotta Humbucker neck and Custom Custom), I decided to open it up and do the same thing. The CC certainly does not need this mod done as it is plenty strong split with 7.1/7.2k coils. The WLH however could use some more output when split. I put a 2.2k resistor in line with the ground connection for the split which brought the DC resistance up from 4.10/4.11k to 6.2k. It's pretty much grounding 1/4 of one coil based on those DC resistance numbers. Last night at rehearsal it got a thorough workout as we were working on "Walks Like A Lady" and "Still They Ride". Compared to before, I really like the additional output. Much fuller and warmer and it balances a lot better with the other switch positions.
Another win for partial splits.
