Re: PATB-3 in Non-trem Strat?
hey PoorMan.i just posted a thread a few days ago inquring about the patb-3 blues trembucker, myself.anyways,i just got one today and i'll be installing it in my '91 ibanez rg 565,which is a basswood,strat-style body and a all maple neck/fretboard.i know what you're looking for.i have the '59b in it now and it sounds really nice, bass & highs are nice, mids are descent and great open.clear tone.sometimes, though i'd like a pickup slightly hotter and fuller, and i mean just slightly, while retaining that great open paf vibe.i've tried the custom 5,and it's a great pickup too,but too boomy and somewhat compressed sounding compared to the 59b.i guess it was too big of a jump from the 59b.that's where i hear the patb-3 comes in.it's supposed to be that perfect little increment,e.q.-wise,from the 59b.keep an eye out-i'll be posting a new thread with the results and my description of the Blues patb-3 in the next few days once i've had some time with it.
