Hi all. I read here frequently that regular vs trem spacing isnt really that big a deal. I have wanted to try the PATB yet all my guitars are hardtails. So my question is, would the design of the PATB be more sensitive to proper spacing? Is there a fixed bridge that is wider that could work with the PATB? I have only heard utube clips, but I think that pup would be right up my alley. Like a sweeter JB, is that correct as well? Thanks all
Ben

Re: PATB

On most modern guitars, including Gibsons, hardtail bridges are generally closer to trem spaced than vintage.

If you're referring to the PATB-1 bridge compared to the JB, the PATB has similar harmonic character and an open, singing midrange, but it's less biting, less aggressive and more balanced in its voicing compared to the JB. So, if what you're after is a more polite JB with some added body, the PATB-1 is a really solid choice that most tend to overlook.

Re: PATB

Thanks Jeremy. Gotta try one. And the neck pup to go with it?

Re: PATB

Standard is the PATB-1n Parallel Axis Neck pickup. It's a lot like the Jazz, though with Parallel Axis extended harmonics.

Aside from that, people fall back on a wide variety of standard humbucker neck pickups, or if they want a different Parallel Axis neck pickup, hit the custom shop for custom winds.
