Pearly Gate Pole Postion ?

No not talkin NASCAR here but this may seem like a really stupid inquiry but here goes.
The SD Pearly Gates are made to be just like the PAF's found in Billy's '59 LP and they are in fact the featured pup ( naturally ) in Gibson's Pearly Gates replica guitar.
Now my question is...for the Pearly Gates guitar did Gibson have string / pick up & pole placements just as Billy has set up on his guitar ?
I'm asking because I just got my PG's in the mail last night. I ordered the uncovered zebra model. I noticed that the poles are all even right across. Gibson site says that the pick up poles should actually follow the curve of the fret board.
So I guess the answer to my stupid question is : No SD did not mimic the pole positions of Billy Gibbons Pearly Gates pups.
Sorry for wasting your time but please fell free to comment.

Re: Pearly Gate Pole Postion ?

You can always adjust to height to mirror the radius of your own guitar. That's why they are adjustable.

Re: Pearly Gate Pole Postion ?

My .009 is always way to quiet next to my .011 or .011.5. So I always Lower the G and B strings poles a bit and
have my bass end of the p'up lower as my low strings are thick, 24 or 26, 36, 48. So slugs go down, poles go up (bridge p'up) and top part of p'up higher. Just can't get used to a 9.5 or 10 after 50 years!

Yeah, I am pretty much certain they are sold with the poles flat. It is easy enough for you to get them to follow the radius. I suppose if you want the ultimate in authenticity, you could contact the Custom Shop with may have pics (or know) of the actual pickup in the real Pearly Gates.

There's a video on the site where Seymour says he prefers poles flush with the top of the bobbins, so that's how Duncan's come. The customer is perfectly free to change them, however. What did Billy do?
