Pearly Gates in the middle?

I have a squier strat with a Pearly Gates (neck) in the bridge.

I put a jb Jr. In the neck. I love that pickup so much I want to get one for the bridge. Or the screaming demon.

I'm thinking of putting the PG in the middle position.

What advice do you have?

Re: Pearly Gates in the middle?

A HB in the middle won't sound anything like it would in the bridge or neck slot (string nodes come into play, and possibly the combined effect of 6 coils with their magnet fields overlapping). The general rule-of-thumb is the hottest PU goes in the bridge slot.

First of all - experiment, experiment, experiment

Me…I'd put the JB in the Bridge, The PG in the neck, and a standard strat pup in the middle.

Ace is right here. PG in the neck JB in the bridge, and something like the Vintage Rails in the middle. You will have a rockin' quiet guitar that can handle many types of music.
