Yes sir, 4-conductor wiring not only allows you to split to one coil, it also allows to wire it parallel. Hope this helps!

Yes indeed it helps very much and is good news because...
I am swapping out the pick ups currently in my 2014 LP Studio which has push / pull knobs for splitting so I can use the board from the LP to allow for the spilt on the PG's which may or may not yield a good result.

If your LP already is equipped with push-pull pots I bet you'll find the option to split (or parallel wire) quite welcome. If you decide to split them (only one coil active) you have 2 options, use only one of the push-pulls to split both humbuckers in one motion, or wiring each of the humbuckers to a push-pull so each can be split with the push-pull you connected it to. Both ways have their pros and cons. If you decide to go for parallel wiring, you'll need both push-pull pots though. The advantage of parallel wiring is that your sound stays noiseless (no hum). Have fun with your LP mate!

Having played around with various wiring options on LP type guitars for many years I have found parallel with Artie's coil swap to give many excellent sound combinations. e.g bridge screw in parallel with neck slug. This of course is my opinion and I have to admit I have never tried it with a pair of PGs but a PG in the neck with an Iron Gear Dirty Torque works well. You will of course need 3 push pulls although I have done a coil swap /bridge in parallel only on a 2 pot guitar which the owner was very happy with.
Another option ( which some people like) with only 2 push pulls is to have one pot put one pup (e.g. bridge) in parallel while the other cuts the neck and also the bridge (but only when it in parallel). This enables bridge HB with cut neck as an additional option.

Spin-a-split is a great option, especially on neck HB's, so you can add treble and thin mids to the exact amount you want each time you play, even for each song. Between that and the coil swap mod I get some very useable tones, so much so that coil cut & parallel have become obsolete for me.

When 2 independent researchers come up with that same good idea,both are to be congratulated but much more so the one who happily shares his research plus other good ideas resulting therefrom with other enthusiasts. How many of us would be aware of this mod if we had waited for PRS to tell us .Thanks again Artie.
To give credit where credit is due, I think PRS came up with this long before I did. I just didn't know it at the time.

A PG neck split is beautiful, and pairs well with the Custom Custom when split too. I had this pickup combo in a Charvel So-Cal a few years back, and I was getting all the Strat-ish tones I wanted from the splits.

Another thing you can do is put a 4k7 (less to sound more single coil like, more to sound like a P90 or HB) in series with the two wires you would normally ground for a split. This allows some of the shunted coil through to remove some thinness. I would definitely recommend this on a set of PG's. It is essentially a stuck spin-a-split.
