Pearly our Seth in & it's good

Howdy folks, this is my first post to the forum. I have lurked for a while and find the talk here real informetive.

So this weekend a buddy installed a Seth Lover in my SG/Melody Maker. I had a Pearly Gates in the bridge and wanted somthing with a fuller tone. Well the Seth really hit the mark. While it's not quite as hot as the Pearly (of course) it's mid range is fuller and the highs are smoother. Very Angus Young-ish to my ears. I'm happy.

Hey there,

Let's first welcome you to the forum, most of us also form a very close and trustworthy brotherhood so I think you might like it here!

That's a very interesting combo, I don't believe I've ever heard of someone using it. Does the PG still suit you? I've always thought the PG balances out in mahogany bodied guitars and dark sounding woods, so the PG would sound very balanced. Oh well, I'll take your word for it :D

Congrats!

Welcome MCG :)

I am a big fan of the Seth Lover bridge also. It has the nice mids but it's not screachy on top. I like to get the "hot-ness" from the amp.

Well the PG was in the bridge and I replaced it with the Seth. My SG was moddified by it's first owner who put a Dimarzio Super Distortion in the nck posision. In fact he GLUED it in. So I'll have to cut it out to replace it with probabaly another Seth. I know the guitar is quirky as hell, but she's served me well.
