Holy crap Drew; you are always wrong.

This amp does scoop better than nearly all, but the lead tone is to die for when recorded properly.

i don't like the lead tone, dude

different people have different tastes, you don't have to be a **** about it

i don't make fun of you for being a spoiled little preteen

Congrats, man. Expect very nice tone. :beerchug:

Play with the preamp and gain controls. If you have any questions on what the difference between the them is, check out the Marshall page on my site, it's dedicated to the MkIII's. Post some questions here and of course you can shoot me a PM.

Will it be coming with a footswitch? If not, all you need is a single button footswitch to switch between the 2 master volumes.

Again, wrong. I worked hard as hell for all of my gear, and not one piece of it cost more than 700.
Wrong #2: I'm not little. At all.
Wrong #3: Since when the **** is 14 considered "preteen?"

But, I can't honestly believe that you don't like the lead tones from Arch Enemy, In Flames, Soilwork, Kreator, or Unearth.

Then again, you don't play metal.

I love my MKIII 2100 but, I have never really liked the 5150 at all! Just sounded kind of bland and generic to my ears.

nope, i don't, and i only like a few metal bands out of the 50 or so i've heard

you're a spoiled preteen, deal with it

Seriously; I fail to see the logic here. I purchased all of my equipment with my own hard-earned money, and I'm not a preteen. Middle school was a while ago, man; start backing up your accusations.

Well, he said he worked for it, it just seems a bit unimaginable for me because here at NY state if you under 18 you can only work 20hr weeks at minimum wage jobs , and I think also the same for summer too. When I was working back as a teen I wasn't making much money. Anyways he must have a good paying job to get all the money for that gear or work like 40hr weeks in the summer and a bunch during the school year.

Re: Peavey 5150 combo vs JCM900 combo

at 14 you don't know what hard work is, hell i'll be 18 next friday and after bailing hay, droppin & installing transmissions (without a lift), and working at one of the busiest restaurants in town i'm still not sure i have a full grasp on the meaning of it. Mowing lawns aint crap

just sort of a personal opinion that if you don't pay taxes, can't drive & hafta bum rides off your parents, and can't even get into a friggin r-rated movie, you're a preteen. Of course sometimes i make exceptions, but you act like a spoiled little preteen, so that's what you are to me

At 14 he has no real expenses though(or at least I would imagine). I remember when I was that age I had a summer job that made me something like 700 total but every cent of it was mine to do whatever I pleased with. Wish it still worked that way...

Actually I have to agree with this. You(drew) are only three years older than him. That means basically nothing after you're out of highschool. If anything I'd think you'd be able to relate to the ****y attitude that comes with that age. God knows I do, and I've got two years on you! It's something we all go through at some point and most of us(I hope) grow out of it. There's really no need to get nasty over a difference of opinion.

getting back to the real thread here...GOOD CHOICE! Im not gonna slam the 5150 but I will say that there is only a few guys I have ever heard use it that got a real good tone from it. I played one of thosae Marshalls (a head version) at a loce shop and while it was more gain than I woudl have used it was a good sound amp.

Well i haven't done half the crap you have, but im pretty sure i'm not as much as an ass as you.

Sorry to be blunt Drew, but it's rediculous to judge anyone just from knowing them vaugely over the internet, you don't know DSS at all, and i have no idea how a thread about amps got to this point!

Me neither. It's ridiculous. Go over to HC if you two want to include irrelavent BS in a thread it has no business being in. Don't do it here.

TGWIF, I've only heard a few that sounded amazing with the 5150 as well. Oddly though, none of them where/are heavy metal players.

EVH
Ted Nugent
Brad Whitford
Steve Stevens
