Changing out the speakers. Just ordered the halfstack. What are the ohms? Are they only dictated by what speakers are in there or is it also part of the head? My first all tube amp.
O.O dude, you don't even know what the stock speakers are, but you're already changing them? ..........
Ohms are basically defines the resistance that speakers apply to the output from the amp. Higher it is, more the resistance is. Most modern tube amps today support 4/8/16ohm cabinet options. Consult your amp's manual and cabinet before you make any changes.
I also agree with super rad. Why change them before even you try them?

mine too, but only with my 5150.my old 5150 cab sounds great!
^ the same could be said about vintage ****. I've been trying to find the matching cab for my 68 bassman for years!!
