Hey does anyone remember the old Peavey Predator guitars??? I still play one along with my les paul. I bought it in 1991-1992 I believe. Its a strat with three single coils. I swapped out the bridge for a Seymour/Duncan HOTRAIL and the neck for a COOLRAIL I love this guitar been playing it for years its wore nice and still jams great. Those p/u really increaded the sound by far. Just was curious if anyone ever heard or seen those before. Mine is black and white.

Yeah. I tricked out one with a US Fender Steel block tremolo instead of the wonky stock tremolo unit. Also new pickups are necessary. That nice big Poplar body is really good, and has aged to perfection. The Maple neck sounds good.
I couldn't get along with the small frets, but the 12" radius was nice. I couldn't ever get the frets level with my amateur skills, so I gave up on it, but wish I still had it for a possible refret.

Peavey was funny about how they named guitars. They would put the same name on different guitars, and then put different names on the same guitar. For example, here's a pic of my Predator and Patriot. (Predator in the middle, Patriot on the right.)

Note that the Predator is nothing like yours, while the Patriot is exactly like the Predator, except for the Kahler Flyer bridge. Btw, I have four of those Patriots. Love 'em. :)

Thats a very old picture, taken with my first digital camera. A whopping 860k resolution. (Yes, I said "k") :D

Peaveys of that age were super underrrated guitars, I had moved somewhere with a "real" guitar store, and FINALLY gotten enough $ that I was gonna buy myself a "real" Fender. Well, I could buy two of these (made in USA) Peaveys for what the imported Fender was gonna cost, and the Peaveys felt and played nicer. I actually sold my Predator fairly quickly, but kept the Reactor for a long time.

I still have my Predator the only reason I keep it is it is signed by RATT

Re: PEAVEY PREDATOR GUITAR

My uncle was on the road a lot with a band in the South East and he loved the quality of Peavey...said the gear could take a beating and held up better than anything else.
