Talk to me about those speakers ...
They arent cheap, morever, they arent that easy to find, even compared to an EV12l ifrom my experience. And black widows, how much do the go for these days?
I always thought they sounded like a Black Widow with a blanket thrown over it.
"Very good speakers" is not how I would describe them. "They're okay, I guess" would be more fitting, in my opinion.
This is what I am looking for my JCM900 cab to sound like, with "invadered" strat and SpinaTS9 pushed Laney AOR
"I want really tight, thick, and BRIGHT low end for palm mutes, very englsque with rammstainish thump of sortsBut I also want very warm and glossy cleans think Richie Blackmore "Catch the Rainbow" and more importantly I want full of mids pick harmonics not over the top highs pick harmonics, not zakkish PHs but more like George Lynch/Criss Oliva, I want as much of a violin in neck SC, think Uli Roth/YJM/Blackmore/Trower. Over all I want it bright and heavy but by no means scooped."
Im not sure if youre gonna find one speaker to cover all that area.Maybe mixing speaks would get you closer?
Maybe a mix of EmI pats and EMi Redcoats or something.
Man o wars will do bright and heavey If im not mistaken.
Just a guess.

The Scorpion makes a far better Guitar speaker than the BW. For Bass tho, the BW Slays.
