Peavey vypyr VIP 1

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

Have you ever tried to read your own posts....yeah, I can’t decipher them either half the time. Lol

Seriously...I haven’t read through the entire thread so my bad if you already covered it. I just thought it sounded like normal feedback from what little I actually read.

Love you too...and I miss you not having been around much the last few weeks. Hope you are feeling better[emoji8]

Actually, you understand them better than anyone. Cept mebbe Jeff. He didn't move in with Aceman, did he?

At least you didn't say the same the same thing Ehd did. He knows what a TechWreck I am, so he asked if I was using a speaker cable. He has daily questions for the dumbass he saves especially for me. Thx, feel better.

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

I dint mean you were dumb
I just did that once
The cable said right on it
SPEAKER CABLE

I never looked
Not calling you dumb
Not exactly

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

I know, not exactly!! You're very helpful, and I was teasing, sort of. No, you make me laugh, and you do know the level of my ignorance, mostly! We both know the diff between stupid and ignorant. I'm only guitar ignorant. I know everything else in the world.

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

How loud is the amp?
High pitched noise....are you sure it’s not just feedback? A loud a$$ amp with an overdriven signal is going to feedback. You can’t just stop playing and expect silence. Does this high pitched noise stop when you turn the guitar volume knob down/off?

Embarrassing, but I think you may be right. You can be right and it still be your fault. Somehow. I can barely hear it while "playing", but it stays ringing after sus. Not much, but I have super sonic hearing. And yes, it stops when I kill master volume. :newbie:

But I took it outside and practiced yesterday, away from wifi, and we were both happier. Of course, it was like 68F here.

That sounds like normal feedback. One of the things beginning guitar players have to learn to do is control the guitar. With overdrive at loud volumes feedback is going to happen.
From now on, when you watch a YouTube vid of a guitar player take note of how they always quickly reach for the volume knob when they stop playing.
Also, some songs that have momentary pauses in the guitar playing need to be controlled too. If you just nudge the guitar volume down a hair, it’s usually enough to get control without a big noticeable change in your tone.

P.S.
I know it wasn’t easy for you to admit that I was right....I appreciate that. [emoji16]

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

Silly. Overdrive (and everything else) was only on half. Master vol at 3. Guitar halfway. So, use the guitar vol and not master vol on amp? (for this situation)

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

Well, that’s not really the method I use, but it’s not “wrong” if it gets you the sound you want to hear from your setup.

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

Why don't you tell me what you'd do for bluesy rock? Someone told me that is where to start and adjust from there. I just don't know where "there" is!!!
Down the yellowbrick road? Chicago? I know-Austin.

I don't even know what your noise sounds like-

I PM you a little later when I get a chance.
Don’t let me forget. Crazy busy work day today....

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

What it caught fire?
OMG
REALLY!!!!!

no seriously what happened?
If it caught fire just by turning it up
Something else is wrong

Re: Peavey vypyr VIP 1

backatcha.

What do you think of the capacitor explanation? Also, would I be a jerk to ask SW to try a third? Or do you think it's just the normal noise in here? {small feedback}
. . . but it HURTS. . . but everything guitar hurts . . .
