I love the amp and have always wanted a mesa, but would it make sense to just replace the speaker with one that mesa uses? I was thinking of the V30. Seems a cheap option rather than buying a mesa combo. Thoughts?

If you do swap the speakers, make sure you order your V30's from Mesa directly. Mesa uses a propietary version of the Vintage 30 that they have Celestion tweak for them. Their version does not sound like a run-of-the-mill standard Chinese aftermarket Vintage 30.

50w? V30 or mc90 both do nice with 5150 circuits, v30 cuts more on highs, mc90 is more balanced and has deeper lows
Order speakers through mesa to get british celestions at china pricing (surprising but true). They only sell those two though. Make sure you get the right ohms.
