Pedal in the loops

How many of those who have pedals in the loop and keep them all the time how keep sitting on top of the amp/head instead of dragging them back to the board, wouldn that much cable length in the loop will screw with signal and tone too much?

It definitely makes sense to do that. Not to mention, if you're out playing, it's less stuff for idiots to dance and spill beer on.

It actually happend to the other guitar player in my last band we were playing a good show, it was our second to last song, and bass player's girlfriend a real dumb ass, got drunk and jumped on stage to dance walked all over the pedal board during his lead, he actually gave a her a kick in the ass as he was playing. Fantastic memory.

Ha! That would be worth fixing a switch or patch cable.

A buddy of mine used no effects except a Zoom 505 for a really sick phaser sound. He kept it sitting on top of his amp, as it was used very sparingly, and he figured he'd probably accidentally step on it and break it.

Hmm ... I was advised here a while back that MXR micro amp in the loop is the best boost if you like your tone for leads justy your rythm tone louder. So I guess if end going for this option I would have to open up MXR micro amp and sodier the switch from "outside" i.e. take the on/off switch to the board so that it sits in the loop on top of the amp.
