its got even more crap on it now.

Seeing as I'm all out of space on that board, I've been thinking of upgrading to this one:

Should be the only pedal board I ever need. it's only around $120-150.

anyone used this brand before? a local shop has them and ive seen them, but that aint the same as owning one.

Re: Pedal Train boards

I think they are great. I used to not like how they looked, so I ignored them for quite a while. I was trying to do the home made board-thing, and I wanted a really clean look with all the wires routed underneath, etc...but, I found I was constantly changing pedals around, so my nice neat board would get jacked up within weeks of rewiring it. Plus, it was heavy (I made it out of surplus Ikea shelves, which are heavy mdf) and I did not have a case for it.

I got a PT2 on craigslist, and have not looked back...it is light, strong, and allows me to change things often and still keep the wiring looking clean.

And, the larger ones come with mounting hardware for a PP2+ power supply, so it can go underneath, out of the way (more room for pedals).

Only downside I see is that the slats make pedal placement more tricky than if it was solid...however, I have never had an issue with this.

I don't think placement will be a problem. thanks!

Re: Pedal Train boards

Pedaltrains are probably the best value for the money. They're practically indestructible, have a great design, and they're damn cheap considering what you get for the money, especially compared to the other popular pedalboards. I got a PT-2 with the hard case for $125 on Craigslist and I never looked back. You might want to consider the PT-2 over the PT-Pro. I was looking at the Pro because like you I figured I'd need all the room I could get. But the 2 has a lot more room that I expected. Do your best to see one in person, and try and fit all your pedals on it in like a mock up or something. You might be surprised at how much room you can get.

Re: Pedal Train boards

I use a PT-JR for the pedals that go with my JMP since it likes different pedals than my other amps do and i have no complaints with the board.

Re: Pedal Train boards

I've owned mine for years, done 100's of gigs.
The fact the PedalPower fits underneath is fantastic.
here's mine

Re: Pedal Train boards

Mine's the pedaltrain 2 I think.

Be careful of getting something bigger because they are REALLY heavy to carry and take up a lot of room on stage.

I tired the Pedaltrain Pro and couldn't lift the damn thing when it was loaded with pedals.

I whittled it down to what I use regularly on stage and haven't looked back.

Re: Pedal Train boards

This is an exageration, but it is the most pedals I see myself buying in the future, at any point in time.

+1

My PT-2 is heavy enough, and it's not even full. Although I do have the case... but I think that's only like 7lbs.

Re: Pedal Train boards

I don't get them... expensive considering you're tied to a very expensive power supply to use with it. But I guess the whole thing together is pro gear, so not something I really would consider.

You don't have to use a Pedal Power. I power mine with a 1 spot. I'd say that you're even less tied down to using a certain power supply than the powerd boards that SKB and Gator make.

Re: Pedal Train boards

That's very true in fact... I have a 1 spot. But if you want to use a power solution with isolated outputs, then can you use others than the PP2? It's a VERY expensive unit for what it does I think...

Ironically then, I have a gator board... :D

Re: Pedal Train boards

i have a BBE Supa-Charger power supply currently mounted under my PT-JR so it does fit other brands of power supplies. the PT mounting brackets fit the BBE too, nothing custom.

Re: Pedal Train boards

I think theyre great. I just got a SKB PS-45, and i think if i were really a touring musician, I would be super psyched. I have no doubt i could drop it 15 feet andwithout damage, and its nice to know that SKB has essentially free replacement for any damage, but the sucker is almost too dang heavy UNLOADED. However, its all the room you could ever need and the built in power supply and stereo cable routing are really cool, definitely costs even out when you factor in the PT with hard case and a true power supply (pedalpower, etc). If you're able, just bring your pedals down to the shop and give them a try!

Re: Pedal Train boards

Here's mine, it's a PT2:

Had it for about 2ish years I guess. If I were heavy gigging I'd get the flight case, but I gig maybe once or twice a week so I just have the gig bag and it works great! For a highly functioning and very versatile board it's got a great price point as well.

Hey Astro... If your post in #11, is that the PedalTrain Pro board? The pedals look very small on that layout.

DUDE, I just saw the price for the PT Pro is at $119 at MusiciansFriend right now.... That's a STEAL for a new board... You can get a Flight Case on ebay for around $130...

If you need that much space, I'd jump on this pretty fast.

I don't care what anyone says, you're gonna wanna ditch that daisy chain and step up to the PP2 if you want to have that many pedals in your chain. I tried to convince myself a while back that a daisy chain was good enough... Then I started to play out... :chairshot ...unwanted hum for days!
